The messaging program is operated under the name Metro Detroit Grab Bars.
Section 2 — Types of Text Messages
Depending on the consent provided and the customer relationship, text messages may include:
- Appointment confirmations
- Appointment reminders
- Technician identification and arrival notifications
- Estimated arrival times
- Scheduling and rescheduling information
- Home safety assessment communications
- Payment or booking reminders
- Customer-service responses
- Follow-up messages after an assessment or installation

- Occasional service-related or promotional messages, when separately authorized
Text messaging is not an emergency communication channel. Do not rely on SMS to reach us in an emergency; call 911 for emergencies.
Section 3 — Consent to Receive Messages
Customers must provide clear and affirmative consent before receiving recurring automated text messages.
Consent may be provided through an unchecked website checkbox, a booking form, a written authorization, or another clearly disclosed opt-in process.
Consent to receive marketing or promotional text messages is not a condition of purchasing any product or service.
Metro Detroit Grab Bars does not use pre-checked SMS consent boxes.
Section 4 — Message Frequency
Message frequency varies based on the customer’s appointments, service activity, requests, and communication preferences.
Customers may receive multiple messages related to an active appointment, assessment, installation, payment, or customer-service request.
Section 5 — Message and Data Rates
Message and data rates may apply depending on the customer’s mobile carrier and service plan.
Metro Detroit Grab Bars does not charge a separate fee for receiving its text messages.
Section 6 — Opting Out
Customers may opt out at any time by replying STOP to a text message from Metro Detroit Grab Bars.
After a customer replies STOP, Metro Detroit Grab Bars may send one final confirmation message stating that the customer has been unsubscribed.
After opting out, the customer will no longer receive text messages from that messaging program unless the customer provides new consent.
We also recognize standard opt-out requests when reasonably clear, including CANCEL, END, QUIT, REVOKE, OPT OUT, or UNSUBSCRIBE, when supported by the messaging provider.

Section 8 — Carrier Disclaimer
Wireless carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Message delivery is subject to the customer’s mobile carrier, device availability, network conditions, and other factors outside the control of Metro Detroit Grab Bars.
Section 9 — Eligibility and Mobile Number Responsibility
The customer must be the subscriber or customary user of the mobile number provided and must be authorized to consent to text-message communications at that number.
The customer must notify Metro Detroit Grab Bars if the mobile number changes or is reassigned.
Section 10 — Privacy and Mobile Information
Metro Detroit Grab Bars handles personal information in accordance with its Privacy Policy.
Mobile telephone numbers, SMS opt-in information, and messaging consent will not be sold, rented, or shared with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes.
Information may be shared only with service providers that help Metro Detroit Grab Bars deliver and support its messaging program, such as telecommunications, scheduling, customer-management, and technology providers, subject to appropriate confidentiality and data-protection obligations.
Text-message consent records are maintained separately from general marketing consent when technically practical.
Section 11 — Security and Sensitive Information
Customers should not send Social Security numbers, complete payment-card numbers, medical records, passwords, or other highly sensitive information by text message.
Metro Detroit Grab Bars will not request complete payment-card information, passwords, or Social Security numbers by SMS.
Section 12 — No Guarantee of Delivery
Metro Detroit Grab Bars does not guarantee that every message will be delivered, received, or delivered within a specific time.
Customers remain responsible for monitoring confirmed appointments, payment obligations, and other service-related responsibilities even if a text message is delayed or not delivered.
Section 13 — Changes to the SMS Program
Metro Detroit Grab Bars may modify or discontinue its messaging program at any time.
Material changes to these SMS Terms of Service will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
Section 14 — Governing Terms
These SMS Terms of Service supplement the website Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy.
If there is a conflict concerning text-message communications, these SMS Terms of Service control only for the SMS-related issue.
