Warranty Information

Product Warranty Information and 90-Day Limited Workmanship Warranty.

Effective Date: July 10, 2026

Introduction

This Warranty Information page explains the warranty position of Metro Detroit Grab Bars regarding products, materials, manufacturer warranties, installation workmanship, customer responsibilities, exclusions, and the process for reporting a concern.

Metro Detroit Grab Bars is operated by Heritage Senior Home Safety Solutions of Michigan, LLC.

1. No Product Warranty Provided by Metro Detroit Grab Bars

Metro Detroit Grab Bars does not provide any warranty on any product. Period.

No product sold, supplied, recommended, delivered, handled, or installed by Metro Detroit Grab Bars includes a product warranty issued by Metro Detroit Grab Bars or Heritage Senior Home Safety Solutions of Michigan, LLC.

This rule applies to all products and materials, including but not limited to:

  • Grab bars
  • Fasteners
  • Anchors
  • Mounting hardware
  • Toilet safety products
  • Bathroom safety products
  • Accessibility products
  • Replacement parts
  • Customer-selected products
  • Company-supplied products
  • Customer-provided products
  • Special-order products
  • Third-party products and materials

Metro Detroit Grab Bars does not manufacture the products it installs and does not independently warrant product quality, product life, product finish, product durability, product performance, or freedom from manufacturing defects.

Nothing in this section eliminates any legal right or remedy that cannot legally be waived.

2. Manufacturer Warranties

Some products may include a separate limited warranty issued directly by the product manufacturer.

Any manufacturer warranty:

  • Is issued solely by the manufacturer
  • Is governed exclusively by the manufacturer’s written terms
  • May include exclusions, limitations, registration requirements, deadlines, maintenance requirements, or claim procedures
  • May require proof of purchase, photographs, model numbers, serial numbers, or other documentation
  • Is not issued, controlled, extended, administered, or guaranteed by Metro Detroit Grab Bars
  • Does not create a product-warranty obligation for Metro Detroit Grab Bars

The existence of a manufacturer warranty does not mean Metro Detroit Grab Bars provides, adopts, guarantees, or assumes responsibility for that warranty.

Customers should review the manufacturer’s written warranty information to determine whether a product is covered and what procedures must be followed.

3. Manufacturer Warranty Claims

The customer is responsible for submitting and pursuing any manufacturer warranty claim unless Metro Detroit Grab Bars expressly agrees otherwise in writing.

Metro Detroit Grab Bars is not responsible for:

  • Approving or denying a manufacturer warranty claim
  • Replacing a product under a manufacturer warranty
  • Paying shipping, handling, return, or processing charges
  • Paying removal or reinstallation expenses
  • Paying labor related to a manufacturer warranty claim
  • Registering a product with the manufacturer
  • Meeting manufacturer claim deadlines
  • A manufacturer’s refusal or failure to honor its warranty
  • A discontinued product
  • An unavailable replacement product
  • Product recalls
  • Manufacturer or supplier delays
  • Shipping-carrier delays
  • Differences between an original product and a replacement product

At its discretion, Metro Detroit Grab Bars may provide available purchase records or product information to help a customer contact the manufacturer.

Providing such assistance does not create a product warranty, promise of coverage, or obligation to obtain a particular result.

4. 90-Day Limited Workmanship Warranty

Metro Detroit Grab Bars provides a limited 90-day workmanship warranty on installation labor performed directly by Metro Detroit Grab Bars.

The 90-day warranty period begins on the date the installation is completed.

This limited workmanship warranty applies only to verified defects caused directly by the original installation workmanship of Metro Detroit Grab Bars.

Examples of a potentially covered workmanship issue may include:

  • Mounting hardware improperly installed by Metro Detroit Grab Bars
  • A loose installation caused directly by an installation error
  • Fastening that does not match the approved installation method
  • Installation that materially fails to match the signed work order because of company workmanship
  • A correction required because the original installation was performed improperly

Coverage is determined only after inspection and verification by Metro Detroit Grab Bars.

A report of movement, looseness, damage, or product failure does not automatically establish that a workmanship defect exists.

5. Limited Remedy Under the Workmanship Warranty

If Metro Detroit Grab Bars determines that a reported condition is covered by the 90-day limited workmanship warranty, the company’s sole obligation will be to correct the verified workmanship issue at no additional labor charge.

The company may determine the appropriate correction method based on:

  • The condition observed
  • The original work order
  • Installation photographs
  • Wall and mounting conditions
  • Product requirements
  • Safety considerations
  • Applicable installation practices
  • Product and material availability

The limited workmanship warranty does not automatically provide:

  • A refund
  • Cash compensation
  • A replacement product
  • Reimbursement for another contractor
  • Payment for customer-performed repairs
  • Removal or relocation based on personal preference
  • Compensation for inconvenience
  • Consequential or incidental damages
  • Coverage beyond correcting the verified workmanship issue

Metro Detroit Grab Bars must be given a reasonable opportunity to inspect and correct a covered issue.

6. Workmanship Warranty Claim Requirements

To request review under the 90-day limited workmanship warranty, the customer must notify Metro Detroit Grab Bars within 90 calendar days after the installation completion date.

The customer should provide:

  • Customer name
  • Installation address
  • Telephone number
  • Email address
  • Installation date
  • Description of the concern
  • Date the concern was first observed
  • Photographs or video showing the condition
  • Information concerning any event that may have caused or contributed to the condition
  • Confirmation of whether anyone altered, tightened, removed, repaired, relocated, or handled the installation

The customer must provide reasonable access to the property and installation area for inspection.

Failure to report the concern within the 90-day period may result in denial of coverage, except where applicable law requires otherwise.

Submitting a claim does not guarantee coverage.

7. Opportunity to Inspect and Correct

Metro Detroit Grab Bars must be given the first reasonable opportunity to inspect and correct an alleged workmanship issue.

The customer should not:

  • Remove the product
  • Relocate the product
  • Tighten or loosen mounting hardware
  • Modify the installation
  • Repair the installation
  • Permit another contractor or person to alter the work
  • Cover or conceal the reported condition

Work performed by the customer or another person before Metro Detroit Grab Bars has a reasonable opportunity to inspect may prevent the company from determining the cause of the condition and may void the limited workmanship warranty.

Metro Detroit Grab Bars is not responsible for charges incurred from a third party unless the company approved those charges in writing before the work was performed.

8. Workmanship Warranty Exclusions

The 90-day limited workmanship warranty does not cover conditions caused by or related to:

  • Product defects
  • Product failure
  • Manufacturer defects

  • Missing or defective customer-provided hardware

  • Remodeling
  • Property alterations
  • Changes made after installation
  • Vandalism
  • Fire
  • Flooding
  • Severe weather
  • Acts of God
  • Conditions outside the reasonable control of Metro Detroit Grab Bars

The warranty also does not cover cosmetic preferences, a change of mind, or product placement previously reviewed and approved by the customer.

9. Customer-Provided Products

Metro Detroit Grab Bars may decline to install any customer-provided product.

When Metro Detroit Grab Bars agrees to install a customer-provided product:

  • The customer is responsible for selecting and purchasing the product
  • The customer is responsible for confirming the product is complete
  • The customer is responsible for confirming the product is suitable for the intended use
  • The customer is responsible for manufacturer warranty registration
  • Metro Detroit Grab Bars does not provide a warranty on the product
  • Metro Detroit Grab Bars does not guarantee replacement-part availability
  • Metro Detroit Grab Bars is not responsible for missing, damaged, defective, counterfeit, recalled, incompatible, or unsuitable products
  • Metro Detroit Grab Bars may stop the installation if the product cannot be installed safely or properly
  • Additional charges may apply if another appointment is required because of an unsuitable, incomplete, or defective product

Acceptance of a customer-provided product for installation does not constitute endorsement, certification, approval, or a product warranty.

Unless otherwise stated in writing, workmanship coverage applies only to the installation labor performed by Metro Detroit Grab Bars and does not cover defects, limitations, or failures of the customer-provided product.

10. No Representation of Product Life or Performance

Metro Detroit Grab Bars does not guarantee the useful life, appearance, finish, corrosion resistance, future availability, durability, continued performance, or weight capacity of any product beyond information specifically published by the manufacturer.

Product performance may be affected by factors outside the company’s control, including:

  • Product design
  • Manufacturing defects
  • Product misuse
  • Improper cleaning
  • Moisture
  • Chemical exposure
  • Corrosion
  • Rust
  • Normal wear
  • Excessive force
  • Impact damage
  • Wall deterioration
  • Structural movement
  • Water intrusion
  • Unauthorized modification
  • Failure to follow manufacturer instructions
  • Conditions within the customer’s property

No verbal statement, estimate, recommendation, photograph, advertisement, website statement, email, text message, or customer-service communication creates a product warranty from Metro Detroit Grab Bars.

11. Safety and Weight-Related Information

A grab bar is a safety-assistance device.

A grab bar does not eliminate the possibility of a fall, injury, disability, property damage, or death.

Any product weight rating is generally provided by the manufacturer and may depend on:

  • The specific product
  • Approved fasteners
  • Wall structure
  • Wall backing
  • Mounting surface
  • Installation conditions
  • Proper use
  • Maintenance
  • Product condition
  • Manufacturer testing standards

No product rating, installation statement, test result, photograph, inspection, or certificate should be interpreted as a guarantee that a fall, injury, or product failure cannot occur.

Any installation test, pull test, load test, photograph, inspection, or certificate documents the condition observed at the time it was performed.

It does not create a product warranty or guarantee future performance under every condition.

12. Inspection and Maintenance Responsibilities

Customers are responsible for regularly inspecting installed products and the surrounding property.

The customer should stop using the product and contact Metro Detroit Grab Bars or another qualified professional if the customer observes:

  • Movement
  • Looseness
  • Cracking
  • Separation
  • Rust
  • Corrosion
  • Water damage
  • Wall deterioration
  • Damaged hardware
  • Unusual sounds
  • Changes in the mounting surface
  • Any condition that creates a safety concern

Customers should not tighten, alter, remove, relocate, repair, or reinstall a product unless qualified to do so.

Continued use after a known or visible safety concern may increase the risk of injury or property damage.

Failure to inspect, report, or address an observable safety concern may affect warranty eligibility.

13. Normal Wear and Property Conditions

The 90-day limited workmanship warranty does not provide coverage for property conditions or changes that are unrelated to the original installation workmanship.

Examples include:

  • Normal aging of the home
  • Wall movement
  • Building settlement
  • Deteriorating drywall
  • Loose tile
  • Cracked tile
  • Grout failure
  • Water damage
  • Mold
  • Rot
  • Hidden damage
  • Concealed structural conditions
  • Prior repairs
  • Plumbing leaks
  • Moisture intrusion
  • Pest damage
  • Alterations performed after installation

Metro Detroit Grab Bars is not responsible for concealed conditions that were not reasonably visible or discoverable during the original service.

14. No Third-Party Warranties or Promises

Metro Detroit Grab Bars is not responsible for promises, advertisements, warranties, guarantees, or representations made by:

  • Manufacturers
  • Suppliers
  • Distributors
  • Retailers
  • Online sellers
  • Delivery companies
  • Financing providers
  • Other contractors
  • Previous property owners
  • Third-party websites
  • Unaffiliated representatives

Third-party information does not modify the customer’s agreement with Metro Detroit Grab Bars.

No employee, technician, salesperson, contractor, or representative may extend or change the 90-day limited workmanship warranty unless the change is approved in a written document signed by an authorized company representative.

15. Warranty Ownership and Transferability

The 90-day limited workmanship warranty applies only to:

  • The original customer
  • The original installation
  • The original installation address
  • Work performed directly by Metro Detroit Grab Bars

The warranty is not transferable to:

  • A new property owner
  • A tenant
  • A family member
  • A caregiver
  • A purchaser of the product
  • Another address

A property sale, transfer, relocation, or removal of the installed product does not extend or transfer the warranty.

16. Warranty Expiration

The 90-day limited workmanship warranty expires at the end of the 90th calendar day following the installation completion date.

Inspection, correspondence, customer-service assistance, or voluntary corrective work does not restart, renew, or extend the original warranty period unless Metro Detroit Grab Bars expressly agrees to an extension in writing.

Any work performed after the warranty period as a customer-service decision does not create a new warranty unless a new written warranty is specifically issued.

17. Limitation of Liability and Remedies

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the customer’s remedy under the 90-day limited workmanship warranty is limited to correction of the verified workmanship defect by Metro Detroit Grab Bars.

Metro Detroit Grab Bars is not responsible for:

  • Indirect damages
  • Incidental damages
  • Special damages
  • Exemplary damages
  • Punitive damages
  • Consequential damages
  • Loss of use
  • Loss of income
  • Alternate housing
  • Caregiving expenses
  • Medical expenses
  • Third-party contractor charges
  • Unauthorized repair costs
  • Manufacturer delays
  • Product replacement delays
  • A product manufacturer’s warranty decision

Nothing in this section excludes or limits a right, obligation, or remedy that cannot legally be excluded or limited.

18. Rights Provided by Law

Nothing in this Warranty Information page waives, restricts, replaces, or eliminates any consumer right or legal remedy that cannot lawfully be waived.

Any implied warranty, statutory obligation, or legal remedy that applies despite the language of this page will be governed by applicable law.

The 90-day limited workmanship warranty is intended to provide defined contractual coverage for installation workmanship.

It does not eliminate any separate legal responsibility that applicable law does not permit the company to exclude.

20. Policy Updates

Metro Detroit Grab Bars may update this Warranty Information page periodically.

The version provided or in effect at the time of the customer’s transaction will generally apply to that transaction, except where:

  • A signed written agreement states otherwise
  • The company provides different written warranty terms
  • Applicable law requires otherwise

Changes posted after an installation will not retroactively reduce a written warranty already provided to a customer.
